Over the long weekend she competed in the MTN Zoo Lake Classic as well as the Campus
to Campus National Classic. On Thursday where all the major woman's Pro teams were
present (MTN, Nashua and Cycle Lab), Yolandi showed her true form. In the last lap
of the criterium Yolandi put in a strong attack with a little over a kilometre to
the finish. Having opened up a gap on the field she was only narrowly beaten to
the line by Cherise Taylor (MTN) and Lynette Burger (Cycle Lab) who edged her out
on the last 50 meters before the line.
On Sunday Yolandi put in another strong performance at the Campus to Campus National
Classic. The 106km ladies race started along with the veteran 50+ men who were out
to sharpen their form ahead of the "Masters Tour of Parys".
Over the top of "Ertjies Berg" climb the bunch thinned out and a small break formed
containing Joanna van der Winkel, Lizanne Naude and Lynette Burger (all from Cycle
Lab) together with Lillian Lourens (MTN), Cherise Taylor (MTN) An-Li Pretorius (Nashua)
and Yolandi Du Toit (Konica Minolta). Yolandi positioned herself well for the sprint
and finished 2nd to Cherise Taylor.
